Historic New Orleans, Louisiana is the chosen sailing ground for the 2024 National Women’s Sailing Association Conference.

The event will be held at historic Southern Yacht Club (SYC) with support from Community Sailing New Orleans. A member of Gulf Yachting Association and established in 1849, SYC is the second oldest yacht club in the United States.

The facility overlooks Lake Pontchartrain, part of the largest estuary on the Gulf Coast. The lake, about 26 navigable miles wide, expands 24 miles from the north toward the City on the southern shore with stunning views of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway – longest continuous span over water in the world. The Club underwent a considerable rebuild in 2009 after suffering damage from Hurricane Katrina.
